I am an interactive designer, living in Seattle WA...currently doing eLearning courseware development, design, graphics, demos, websites...working daily in Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and most recently Drupal (CMS).

After working for Toys R Us for almost 10 years I went back to school for Multimedia Design. CD Rom, Director 5, Freehand 5.5, animated gifs, Netscape Navigator, AOL...the web was just a baby. I remember my first day in class sitting in front of a Power Mac 7500. I could not figure out how to delete a file. What's the 'Trash'??...
After graduating I got a couple jobs doing desktop publishing and offset printing. My first digital job was through an agency. I was doing web banners. I was so excited, but had no idea what I was doing. Unsharp mask?!? I lasted 3 days...
After gigs at Microsoft, Edmark, MediaPro, MRM, I am currently freelancing more. I continue to contract for MediaPro, some agency work here and there, juggling a handful of personal clients, and anxious to see where the future takes me next.

why?
I was surrounded by the most incredibly talented artists, writers, and programmers. I have never experienced such enthusiasm, dedication, and pride in a working environment. I was blessed with true mentors - something that is very hard to find in todays tight workforce. And for that I am eternally grateful.

at the gym by 4:45a (when I am being good ;-) and then at my computer no later than 7a. I work till about 3p. So if a meeting/conf call is scheduled for around 4p, chances are you're not going to get the most responsive me (that is my power nap time). Sometimes I get a bug after dinner and work for another hour or two.
That's what's great about working from home, I can work when it's best for me. Not being stuck in a cubicle 9-5 allows me to capitalize on the times when I am the most creative and productive. I wish more people had that opportunity.
